All About Round Mirrors

Some people think that all mirrors are the same. You will be surprised to know that they selection of mirrors that you can choose from for your bathroom, or just to have on the wall in any room of your home is huge. You will find that knowing about round mirrors is good too.

Mirrors are an important part of your home dcor. There are all kinds of fabulous shapes, sizes, and styles on the market but round mirrors are one of the most versatile. It's time you know your options.

First let's start with understanding what regular mirror glass is. Regular mirror glass is plain glass and the back is spray painted with aluminum which is what turns the glass into a mirror. IT is available in both 1/8" and " thicknesses. The 1/8" thickness is much thinner so the weight of the mirror is much lighter.

The " plate glass mirror is a lot heavier and much more durable making it the most popular choice. You pay a little more for that extra weight but it's worth it. It looks much richer and more expensive than the thinner glass. Another bonus is the edges can be beveled.

The lightweight glass costs around $5 per square foot where the cost of the heavier glass is about $6 per square foot. Of course we seldom buy mirrors by the square foot and it's the completed piece we pay for.

But since we are discussing cost we might as well touch on beveled edge glass too which will cost you around $40 a square foot. The price is so much higher because of the work involved in grinding the edge down to form the beveled edge.

Beveled mirror strips for the edge are an affordable way to dress up any mirror costing around $5 per foot....
