...Asymmetrical Grouping

If you have a group of mirrors or pictures that are not similar but share at least one element you can place them in asymmetrical groups to create balance.

Hang your mirrors with lower than the other or hang larger and small mirrors together to create an interesting and dynamic display. Combine with other wall hangings, paintings, and photos.

Combine vertical and horizontal mirrors together. Consider a rose colored horizontal accented with two vertical gold colored mirrors that are etched and framed. There are all kinds of options to try.

Asymmetrical is one of the greatest ways to be creative in your decorating scheme.

5. Museum Placement

One way to get creative is use a museum gallery effect. Draw an imaginary line at 58 inches and use this as the center point for all your placements. Your works don't have to be the same size they just need to all be centered at that 58 inch line.

Mix varying sizes and shapes and as many or as few as you like. Combine prints and mirrors or do a wall of solid mirrors. Solid mirrors across from a window or your tropical jungle produce a fabulous effect.

6. Modern Gallery

The modern gallery effect feels great in halls, entrances, and stairs. Take two steps along the wall and use this as your center point. Hang from there. Again a linear line has an excellent effect and creates an illusion of largeness. If each mirror is framed identical it gives a nice division, although you can consider using a different color frame on each.

Now that you are more aware of mirror frames, and what it can do for you and your mirror, you can make a great decision while you are shopping. You will find that many times they are all portrayed as the same, but now you know the difference and that they are not one in the same.
